Tuesday, 17 November at 11:00 New York | 16:00 London

Agriculture is traditionally seen as a threat to biodiversity through habitat fragmentation and agrochemical use. However, sustainable agriculture that respects and restores biodiversity does not only have benefits for biodiversity, but also makes the farm and supply chain more resilient. In this session we will discuss how to achieve transformative change in the agricultural sectors, which role different actors play in this, and how global policies could help with this. We will hear from farmers. Scientists and the private sector and explore questions including:

• What are the benefits and challenges on the farm to conserve and also regenerate biodiversity?
• What is the latest research on regenerative actions and do scientists think a company can take positive steps in this? Is it possible to preserve biodiversity in the agriculture sector?
• How does the Rainforest Alliance standard contribute to biodiversity conservation?

• Juliana Jaramillo, Global Lead Sustainable Agriculture, Rainforest Alliance
